Mac Miller’s Spotify Singles were released earlier this week, marking the first release from Miller since his untimely passing. As a part of the Spotify Singles program — where artists record a new take on one of their top songs, as well as a cover by their own favorite musicians — the late artist performed Swimming highlight “Dunno,” as well as a cover of Billy Preston’s “Nothing From Nothing.”
To honor the late artist, a limited-edition, blue 7″ vinyl of the recording was pressed and made available exclusively via the Spotify Fans First program for his biggest fans on Friday, November 30.

Mac, we miss you!
Mac Miller fans are in for a treat this week. On Friday (Nov. 30), Spotify released his previously recorded sessions for their reoccurring Spotify Singles segment. The session was reportedly recorded a month prior to his death in September.
For the late rapper’s participation in the series, he ran through a stripped down rendition of his track “Dunno,” which appears on his final studio album Swimming, as well as a cover of Billy Preston’s “Nothing From Nothing.”
In true form to the Spotify series, the session asks artists to record a new version of one of their own songs, as well as try their hand at covering a song from one of their favorite musicians.

The song Mac chose to cover appeared on the late musicians’s 1974 album, The Kids & Me. At the time of its release, 'Nothing From Nothing' went on to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Preston’s second chart-topper as a solo artist.
“Nothin' from nothin' leaves nothin' / And I'm not stuffin', believe you me,” Mac sings during the somber cover. “Don't you remember I told ya / I'm a soldier in the war on poverty, yeah / Yes, I am.”
In addition to Mac performing the two singles, Spotify has decided to honor his legacy with a limited-edition blue 7' vinyl of the recording. The vinyl was made available exclusively for his biggest fans via the Spotify Fans First program.
According to Spotify, all proceeds from the vinyl will go to benefit The Mac Millers Circle Fund, which made its debut at the Mac Miller tribute last month. The foundation was established in his name to help provide programming, resources and opportunities to youth from underserved communities.
